Be part of On Screen Manitoba and New Media Manitoba’s Museum Design Lab produced with the Manitoba Museum. Up to five teams of creators with backgrounds in design, visual and sound art, film, interactive and immersive digital media will be selected for the three-day lab. Each team will create a prototype for a digital media experience based on themes determined by the Manitoba Museum.
Apply as a content creator, composer, designer or developer for the three-day Museum Design Lab from Saturday, October 14 to Monday, October 16, 2017. Through a collaborative process, you will use immersive and interactive technologies to develop an exhibit prototype. Content can be produced in either French or English. Applicants must be On Screen Manitoba, New Media Manitoba or Manitoba Music members in good standing.
Isaac Marshall is Principal of AldrichPears Associates, an award-winning firm that provides interpretive planning and exhibit design for museums and science centres around the world. As Project Lead for the renewal of the Manitoba Museum, Isaac is leading an incredibly talented team of interpretive planners, curators, exhibit designers, architects, and media producers to develop meaningful and engaging experiences that celebrate Manitoba’s unique cultural and natural history. Participants at the 2017 Museum Design Lab will have the unique opportunity to work with one of the leaders in the museum-design field and gain valuable insights into the upcoming renewal of the Manitoba Museum.
