Government of Manitoba announces the Manitoba Production Company Bonus

On March 6, the Honourable Cathy Cox, Minister of Sport, Culture and Heritage along with the Honourable Scott Fielding, Minister of Finance, the Honourable Ralph Eichler, Minister of Economic Development and Training, the Honourable Ron Schuler, Minister of Infrastructure and Rachel Rusen Margolis, Chief Executive Officer and Manitoba Film Commissioner of Manitoba Film and Music, announced a new Manitoba Production Company Bonus of eight per cent to be added to the 30 percent cost-of-production credit, increasing the total cost-of-production credit to 38 per cent.

In addition, they announced proposed changes to The Highway Traffic Act will allow a traffic authority (either the province or a municipality) to permit certified flag persons to temporarily control traffic, in situations where it is safe to do so.

The ministers noted that improvements are based on advice from the Manitoba Film and Video Production Tax Credit Working Group.
