MTS Stories From Home $20k Pitch Finalists Announced

We are pleased to announce the finalists for the MTS Stories From Home $20,000 Pitch! Ten contestants were selected by a panel of local industry professionals to go head to head in a live pitch event at the Aspire Theatre in Gimli during the 2013 Gimli Film Festival.

The selected finalists are:

Contacting the Dead – Mark Borowski, Howard Ronald Kowalchuk, John Anthony Wilson
Jihadzilla – Ed Ackerman
Manitoba Treasure – Devon Unrau
Our People’s Way – Whitney Light, Jason Hasselman
Skating Home – Ivan Hughes
Sweet Memories and Bitter Realities – Lawrence Lannoo, Phil Cholosky
That Mennonite Joke – Orlando Braun, Jorge Requena
The Film That Was Never Made – Clarke Stockton, Gina Marsh
The Porter is Hot Tonight – David Zellis
To Main Street With Love – Shelly Anthis

On stage at the Aspire Theatre each finalist will have three minutes to pitch their project for a non-scripted Manitoba story before a live audience. Then they will have three minutes to respond to questions from a panel of judges. Once all the pitches have been presented, the judges will make their decision and announce the winner of the $20, 000 prize to be used toward the production of a project for MTS Stories From Home.

The MTS Stories From Home $20,000 Pitch! contest is presented by On Screen Manitoba in partnership with the Gimli Film Festival and MTS TV.

Sur la scène du Aspire Theatre, chaque finaliste aura trois minutes pour défendre son projet d’émission manitobaine non scénarisée devant un public. Ils auront ensuite trois minutes pour répondre aux questions du jury. Une fois que tous les pitchs auront été présentés, les juges prendront une décision et annonceront qui remportera le prix de 20 000$ à dépenser pour la production d’un projet MTS Stories From Home.

Le concours MTS Stories From Home $20,000 Pitch! est présenté par On Screen Manitoba en partenariat avec le Gimli Film Festival et MTS TV.
