Anishinaabe filmmaker Jordan Molaro of Nu Media Films has teamed up with VICE Canada to produce a short documentary on Indigenous sharing circles. The film was created as part of the yearly Nu Media Program, where up to 25 Indigenous youth participants are given the opportunity to explore careers in media through a three-month program. This year the students were invited to pitch ideas that could be produced in collaboration with VICE and released on its platforms, and so the group of students decided to do something to promote healing for Canada and their fellow Indigenous communities. Filming took place at the Circle of Life Thunderbird House in Winnipeg. More information on the Nu Media Program is available here, and you can read more about the collaboration with VICE here.
