OSM Member Jon Wynne’s STANDING ON GUARD premieres on MTS

October 30, 2013

On Screen Manitoba member Jon Ted Wynne’s documentary series STANDING ON GUARD will premiere on MTS TV Stories From Home the week of Remembrance Day.

STANDING ON GUARD tells the story of Manitoba’s Military units from the perspective of how each unit has impacted our culture and heritage.  Units represented are The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada; The Royal Winnipeg Rifles; The Fort Garry Horse; 2 Bn Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry; The Winnipeg Grenadiers; and 38 Service Battalion.

As part of this series, Jon had the opportunity to travel to Buckingham Palace where he met and filmed HRH Prince Philip, who is Colonel-in-Chief of the Camerons.  Jon’s trip included documenting the Winnie the Bear story at London Zoo and being mentored by universally-acclaimed filmmaker Tony Palmer–at London’s renowned Garrick Club, no less!

Jon’s trip was partially funded by On Screen Manitoba.
