Thriving Together: Film and Tourism Collaboration

“Strong film and tourism industries have the potential to contribute positively to local communities. Film and tourism can both raise the profile of a community, provide employment opportunities, have spin-off expenditures and leave legacies that can remain within communities. Film productions can leave a legacy by contributing to resource development, film tourism, and destination image enhancement which, can continue to attract visitors to the destination long after the film has wrapped. Leveraging film production and tourism to benefit communities requires planning and should, at times, involve both parties working in tandem.”
