MediaXchange is hosting The Business of Scripted in Stockholm October 5-6. With a line up of TV drama executives, the event may be of interest to writers, directors and producers working in fiction.
The Business of Scripted 2017
While addressing the debate around the economic impact of too much drama The Business of Scripted will address how to sustain the strengths of the European market for drama, and building upon the creative and commercial success Drama has had throughout the world market. MediaXchange will be hosting the event at the Opera House in Stockholm, 5 & 6th October.  The goal of the event will be the furthering the achievements of the international television drama industry by analyzing and considering the economics underpinning this success.

Support for the Event

Following a successful launch in 2016, the event has received support from the Creative Europe Fund, along with sponsorship from international organizations including ZDF Enterprises, Eccho Rights and Chimney Group.

As part of the 2017 schedule, two new strands have been included, featuring a profile on the new equity financiers within the TV Drama market, and a profile on new collaborative opportunities with the US, presented by 6 attending US Showrunners and Executives.

The sessions will aim to explore new structures of collaboration within International TV Drama with particular emphasis on the relationship to the US as well as highlighting the new crop of financiers involved in investing in content. The intention will be to bring together the strands of new thinking and new models concerning the financing of scripted drama as well as examining the underlying economics associated with this booming sector of the industry
