BANFF World Media Festival: Joly keynote, Canadian Creative Industries Code of Conduct

BANFF World Media Festival took place this week, with Minister Joly delivering a keynote address in which she presented an overview of Canadian Heritage’s initiatives since the beginning of her term, including the DigiCanCon consultations, the Creative Canada framework, the agreement with Netflix and the cultural trade mission to China. She spoke to the important work being carried out in regard to enforcing respectful workplace and harassment prevention noting the Canadian Creative Industries Code of Conduct initiative ( and noting that recipients of funding from her department will be required to sign a code of conduct. She also announced that Canadian online distributors such as CBC online and Crave TV will trigger CMF funding. OSM member Frantic Films‘ Still Standing won a Rockie Award.
