The CBC is removing royalty stipulations as well as profit participation from its deals for pre-licensed English-language projects. The new framework applies to all deals signed after April 1, 2017. The measures had been introduced in 2014 following a decrease in government investment and rising licence fees costs. See the Playback article for more information.
