On Screen Manitoba, New Media Manitoba, and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) are partnering to produce Creation Lab V with the participation of the National Film Board (NFB) from 9:00 am Friday, February 21 to 4:00 pm Sunday, February 23, 2020, with an opening session taking place the evening of Thursday, February 20.
The Creation Lab is a rapid-prototyping event, where storytelling experiences related to human rights themes are reimagined for international audiences using digital, physical, and mixed-reality approaches. Collaborating through an inclusive, human-interaction methodology that is at the heart of non-linear storytelling experiences, participants will explore the use of emerging technology for a variety of platforms and locations.
Creators of all abilities and backgrounds working in visual arts, performing arts, music, film, television, interactive and immersive digital media are invited to apply for the three-day accelerator. Please see the membership requirements below.
Apply as a content creator, musician, designer or developer for the three-day Creation Lab. Up to 25 creators will be selected to form four or five teams. Through a collaborative process, you will use immersive and interactive technologies to tell a story about human rights. During this Lab, one team will work and produce a prototype in French. If you thrive on challenge, enjoy solving problems, and are not afraid of exploring new territory, click here to apply.
