CRTC Public Consultations

April 25, 2017

The CRTC has released a three-year plan committing to the creation, connection and protection of quality, diverse and compelling Canadian content. A review of CBC’s fulfillment of its regulatory obligations will be conducted as part of its licence renewal process. The CRTC will also review the financial state of digital media in Canada. The plan aims to “modernize the regulatory framework for the Canadian broadcasting system, improve access to advanced and competitive communication services and strengthen the security and safety of Canadians within the communication system”. Public online consultations will be announced. See the plan and The Wire Report and Playback Daily articles for more information.
