Job Objectives:
The successful candidate will assist Freeze Frame’s management team in delivering the organization’s workshop program.

Job Description:

The Workshop Facilitator will be responsible for promoting, booking and delivering film and animation workshops to children and youth at schools, childcare centres, community centres, libraries and special events in Winnipeg and throughout the province.

Specifically, the candidate will develop contacts; lead workshops in animation (ie: traditional animation, pixilation, claymation, etc) and film production (ie: documentary, live action, fiction, etc.) and for children and teens in French and English as required.

Training will be provided by staff at Freeze Frame.

Areas of Responsibility:

Workshop Delivery

o Facilitate media literacy workshops in film production and various forms of animation in

schools, childcare centers, community centers, libraries and special events in French &

English as required

o Develop contacts in rural communities to offer and deliver workshops

o Ensure the information in the education resource section of the Freeze Frame website is

current and updated

o Coordinate the preparation of media education materials as required


o Book, prepare and distribute confirmation forms and invoices for workshops in a timely


o Respond to email and phone information workshop requests


o Promote Freeze Frame workshops via social media

o Identify promotional opportunities relative for Freeze Frame’s annual International Film

Festival for Kids of All Ages

Candidate Profile:
Experience in film, video or new media production

Experience working with children and youth

Interest in film and/or fine arts

Excellent organizational skills

Strong communication skills (written and spoken)

Fully bilingual (French & English)

Be age 16-30 years of age at the start of employment contract and intend to return to postsecondary


Minimum Requirements:
Minimum 2 years experience working with children and youth

University degree or experience in a field related to the position, such as media studies, film,

communication, fine arts

Fully bilingual (French & English)

Other languages an asset

A valid driver’s license

Freeze Frame is Manitoba’s Media Arts Centre for Young People. The Centre is a bi-lingual not-for profit and charitable organization that offers unique educational opportunities for young people to explore the art of filmmaking and multimedia. Freeze Frame hosts the International Film Festival for Kids of All Ages each spring and provides hands-on workshops in a multilingual and multicultural environment throughout the year.
