I Look Up Film Challenge

July 20, 2017

The I Look Up Film Challenge is an opportunity for architects and filmmakers to come together to showcase exactly that. The challenge invites filmmakers, directors, producers, and editors to collaborate with architects to create films that highlight projects and architects helping to change communities for the better. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) welcomes film submissions by August 13 at ilookup.org

Films submitted by the August 13 deadline will be reviewed by an esteemed panel of judges from the media and architecture world, including John Montague, Associate Producer of Moonlight. Along with being awarded cash and distribution prizes, winners will be flown to Chicago in September and New York City in November to be screened at the Architecture and Design Film Festival.

This year’s theme, Blueprint for Better, shines a light on the powerful social impact of architects and their work. In partnership with their clients and communities, architects plant the seeds that blossom into stronger neighbourhoods, towns and cities. Learn more about the architects and filmmakers behind Midtown. A Blueprint for Better., a documentary capturing this year’s theme and the transformation of a community by local architects.
