Manitoba’s Red Carpet Screening of Hyena Road a Great Success

Manitoba Film and Music, Telefilm and On Screen Manitoba partnered on a Red Carpet Screening of Hyena Road hosted by Premier Greg Selinger at the Centennial Concert Hall. Attendance was 1500 people, with guests lining up early to walk the red carpet with the film’s lead actor/writer/director Paul Gross; visiting casts members and On Screen Manitoba member Darren Wall and other local actors. Co-producers Niv Fichman and Phyllis Laing were also present along with Michael Kennedy Of Cineplex.

Hartley Richardson hosted the event, welcoming Val Creighton, CEO of the Canada Media Fund and Carole Vivier, CEO of Manitoba Film and Music who both congratulated the cast, crew and producers on their achievement. Attendees included representatives from Canada’s Military, the provincial government, the private sector,  the arts and cultural industries sector as well as the the many Manitobans who worked on the film, which shot in Shilo Manitoba and Jordan, last fall. Hyena Road premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and is currently playing at other major film festivals in Canada. It opens in Canadian theatres on October 6.
