Nicole Matiation, Executive Director
Nicole was appointed as On Screen Manitoba’s Executive Director in 2010 and has worked in the arts and cultural sector all of her career, holding management positions in communications, development, programming, government relations and public engagement for over 20 years.
First in Montreal in the dance community and on contract for the National Film Board of Canada, upon returning to Winnipeg in 1996, she founded and led Freeze Frame Media Arts Centre for Young People with its annual international film festival for 12 years. More recently, Nicole was the Cultural Industries Consultant for Sport, Culture & Heritage Manitoba and in 2010 was the Project Manager for Manitoba Culture Days.
Nicole has an MA in Media Studies from Concordia University and as an active volunteer, Nicole sits on a variety of local and national committees and juries. She is a founding member and treasurer of Manitobans for the Arts, a board member of the Franco-Manitoban Cultural Centre, co-chair of the Board of Culture Days /Nuit Blanche Winnipeg and co-founder and Chair of the Board of Freeze Frame Media Arts Centre for Young People.
Cali Ramsey, Data and Finance Manager
Tani Miki, Communications and Reporting Manager
Tani graduated with Bachelor degrees in History and Art History. She worked for over a decade at The Japan Foundation in Toronto as a Program Officer responsible for film and visual arts grants, exhibitions, screenings and events. She has also served on the board of Gendai Gallery in Toronto.
Maryam Decter, Membership and Programs Manager
Maryam has Bachelor degrees in Arts, Theatre, Education, Fine Arts, a background in Conflict Resolution and Creative Writing. She has worked on more than 50 productions over 20 years as a Production Designer, Production Manager and Gemini Award winning Set Decorator. She appreciates both the cooperative nature of filmmaking and the skill and hard work that go into it. Maryam brings practical production experience to the OSM Team as well as a deep, clear understanding of the Manitoba media production industry and a commitment to mentorship, business development and fairness.
Amber O’Reilly, Bilingual Communications Coordinator
Amber joined On Screen Manitoba in September 2016, having previously interned with the Government of the Northwest Territories, Société franco-manitobaine and held contracts with French-language publications Le Réveil, La Liberté and L’Aquilon. She is interested in the arts, international issues, travel, languages and cultures. Amber holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Université de Saint-Boniface and speaks French, English, Spanish and Portuguese. She is a practicing poet, spoken word artist and emerging playwright from Yellowknife, NWT.
Elena Sturk Lussier, Bilingual Communications and Events Coordinator
Elena Sturk Lussier graduated in 2017 with an MSc in Creative Writing from the University of Edinburgh. She has published short fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry in various small literary journals. She has worked in the film and television industry, both behind and in front of the camera, for the last thirteen years. Most recently, she worked as the Second Assistant Director for the television series Nikola Tesla and the End of the World.
