They say that those who can’t, teach. But Lois Brothers defies that stereotype with reel time on screen and as the owner/operator of the Children’s Acting Center since 2004. Her performances in film and television include roles in Heaven is for Real, Faces in the Crowd, Burden of Truth, Breakthrough, The Gabby Douglas Story, and Among Thieves. On-camera experience counts, as does her solid background as a drama teacher, K-12 schoolteacher, and physical education teacher/coach. As an acting coach, many of her students audition for productions filmed in Winnipeg. She has also played the role of on-set tutor, mentoring both child actor and parent. Her number one passion is teaching. At the same time her students learn how to be professional actors, they gain knowledge and become increasingly creative. Lois has also facilitated movie making in her school, where she heads as director and producer while teaching kids about the “behind-the-scenes” roles required making a movie. The most common outcome for students at her acting school is increased confidence. Her skillset also includes, modeling, archery, horseback riding, choral singing, special needs teacher, and aerobics instructor. All this while baking the best pies in town.
