Lindsay Somers brings nearly two decades of professional experience in strategy development, communications, advocacy work and executive leadership across government, non-profit, and private consulting sectors.
Rooted in the creative arts industry, Lindsay’s early career included work on a range of acclaimed productions, including Guy Maddin’s My Winnipeg, the feature documentary How to Start Your Own Country, and the feature film The Stone Angel. She also contributed to a variety of other film and television projects in various roles at Buffalo Gal Pictures. In 2007, she participated in the CMPA Producer Mentorship Program.
In addition to her production experience, Lindsay has worked with other nonprofit membership organizations leading strategic initiatives..
Lindsay is a graduate of the Theatre and Film Program at the University of Winnipeg. In 2023, Lindsay was an honoured recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of her community work.
Maryam Decter (she/her)

Maryam has worked on more than 50 productions as a Production Designer, Production Manager and Gemini Award winning Set Decorator and is excited to rejoin the OSM team. She appreciates both the cooperative nature of filmmaking and the skill and hard work that goes into it. Maryam brings practical production experience to the table as well as a deep, clear understanding of the Manitoba media production industry and a commitment to training, mentorship, business development, diversity, inclusion and fairness.
Dodie Graham McKay (she/her)

Dodie Graham McKay has been working in the Winnipeg documentary film community as a production manager, producer, director and writer since she fell into it accidentally in 2005. She is also a published author and journalist, writing about natural history, environmental issues and magic. Dodie’s passion for authentic storytelling and documentary film drives her commitment to ensuring that our film community represents the diversity and creative talent that Manitoba has to offer.

Peter Nielsen (he/him)
Program Coordinator

Peter holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) in Film Production from York University. For nearly a decade, he has served as a post-production supervisor in the local documentary film community, contributing to a number of high-quality documentary productions for CBC, National Geographic, Discovery, and Smithsonian Channel. Peter excels at problem solving and collaboration, seamlessly integrating the technical, creative, and business aspects of filmmaking to deliver exceptional projects.
Outside of work, he enjoys dismantling electronics to understand and repair their inner workings.
As the Program Coordinator, Peter is thrilled to leverage his skills and experience to support, develop, and deliver programs that will enhance and grow the Manitoba production industry.
Trix Deseo (she/her)
Membership and Communications Specialist

Trix is a marketing and communications professional with over a decade of experience in the media and entertainment industry, having worked with top multinational brands like The Walt Disney Company, National Geographic, Fox Networks Group, and Nickelodeon. Her expertise spans client-focused strategic communications and planning across the Asia Pacific region.
In her role as Membership and Communications Specialist at On Screen Manitoba, Trix brings her extensive communications expertise to boost member engagement and foster collaboration within Manitoba's production sector.
Trix has recently earned her post-secondary Diploma in Public Relations and Strategic Communication from the University of Winnipeg - Professional, Applied and Continuing Education (PACE). She also holds a master's degree in marketing communications and a bachelor's degree in communication arts.
A cinephile, content creator, and voracious reader, Trix’s passion for film and storytelling deeply influences her professional pursuits.
