Our Programs and Events

On Screen Manitoba provides professional, market and business development services and programs for industry professionals, companies and festivals through partnerships and industry services, events and programs.

Delegations and Discounts

On Screen Manitoba organizes delegations and registration discounts for a number of national and international markets including Banff World Media Festival, World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP), Prime Time In Ottawa, Hot Docs and more.

Through partnerships with generous national and local partners, All Access passes and discounts are offered to emerging and BIPOC filmmakers, allowing for Manitoba-based emerging creators to meet with broadcast executives, distributors and funders to discuss future projects.

Contact Robyn Hasselstrom, Bilingual Industry Services Coordinator, for more information.

Industry Sessions

On Screen Manitoba delivers industry sessions that put Manitoba production companies, writers and filmmakers in small group presentations and discussions with funders, broadcasters, distributors and industry experts from Manitoba and elsewhere. This past year, On Screen Manitoba offered sessions independently and in partnership with other stakeholders, including Conflict, Cooperation + HR Principles with NSI and Harassment Prevention for the Media Production Industry with SAFE Work Manitoba. Independent sessions included Safety and Health Guidelines for the Manitoba Media Production Industry, Bystander Intervention Skills for the Workplace, From Unconscious Bias to Conscious Inclusion, and Exploring Opportunities for Documentary in International Markets.

Events

On Screen Manitoba produces All Access, an intimate, bilingual industry forum that takes place over three days in Winnipeg, Canada. All Access is the only Canadian media production industry forum that provides programming for both English- and French-language markets within a single event. It is an opportunity for broadcast, distribution and fund executives from Canada and elsewhere to connect with producers, writers, directors and other industry professionals in attendance.

On Screen Manitoba works with a variety of local partners to organize events and sessions at film festivals, including Q & As with filmmakers and other industry sessions at Cinémental, WAFF, Indigenous Film Summit, Gimme Some Truth and events with the Winnipeg Film Group. We support Freeze Frame Media Arts Centre’s film festival and career discovery initiatives to connect students with industry professionals. The Creation Lab, produced in partnership with New Media Manitoba, The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) and the National Film Board, is a rapid-prototyping event where storytelling experiences related to human rights themes are reimagined for international audiences using digital, physical and mixed-reality approaches.

Programs
