Access Funds are available to support On Screen Manitoba Professional Plus members travelling to markets, festivals and professional development opportunities. These funds are here to help you build and maintain the industry relationships that support Manitoba projects—whether through sales, broadcast, distribution, co-production or partnerships.

Access Funds

Access to Markets

This industry-driven fund supports the market development activities of Manitoba production companies, independent distributors and writers at national and international markets. Production companies are also eligible to apply for up to two business trips, red carpet screenings, and/or award shows, where the primary activity of the producer will be focused on business meetings and market expansion.

The Access to Markets contribution covers 100% of the maximum total of the actual eligible costs ($1,500 for North American travel and $2,000 for international travel) up to the amount approved by the jury.

Applicants must be eligible OSM members (with a Professional+ or Production Company membership) in good standing for a minimum of three months prior to applying for funds. Membership must remain in good standing for one year following an Access Funds award.


Access to Festivals

This industry-driven fund supports a portion of the travel costs for independent Manitoba writers, directors, producers and distributors with at least two years of professional production experience and whose feature length productions (short films may be considered on a case by case basis) have been selected to screen at national and international festivals that have significant industry recognition.

The Access to Festivals contribution covers 100% of the maximum total of the actual eligible costs ($1,250 for North American travel and $1,500 for international travel) up to the amount approved by the jury.

Applicants must be eligible OSM members (with a Professional+ or Production Company membership) in good standing for a minimum of three months prior to applying for funds. Membership must remain in good standing for one year following an Access Funds award.


Professional Development Fund

This industry-driven program designed to support the professional development of independent Manitoban writers, directors and creative service professionals with at least two years of experience in the screen-based industry.  

The Professional Development Fund contribution covers 100% of the maximum total of the actual eligible costs ($1,250 for North American travel and $1,500 for international travel) up to the amount approved by the jury.

Applicants must be eligible OSM members (with a Professional+ or Production Company membership) in good standing for a minimum of three months prior to applying for funds. Membership must remain in good standing for one year following an Access Funds award.

A non-refundable application-processing fee of $50.00 per person must be paid when submitting the application.
