Our Mission

We advocate, drive and foster creative collaborations, committed to building an inclusive, vibrant and innovative media production industry.

Our Vision

Manitoba is a media production centre of excellence, recognized internationally for its highly skilled workforce and award-winning stories.

On Screen Manitoba leads, builds and represents the media production industry in Manitoba, Canada.

As a non-profit provincial industry association, On Screen Manitoba is supported by a membership that includes individuals, producers, writers, directors, filmmakers, industry professionals, labour organizations (ACTRA, DGC, IATSE Local 856), production companies, service suppliers, training organizations, film festivals and other stakeholders, representing over 2,000 industry professionals. Our members produce all types of content in English, French and Indigenous languages, and they have access to some of the best production incentives in Canada.

As a Sector Council supported by the Manitoba government, we play a key role in developing and delivering workforce training for new and existing employees. This helps support business growth and prosperity within the media production industry. We work with employers, educational institutions, and stakeholders to identify skills gaps and provide training and resources that support the long-term success of our sector.

Building a positive filming environment in Manitoba is essential to the long-term success of our industry. On Screen Manitoba partners and collaborates with organizations both in the province and from across Canada to improve working conditions, support workforce development, attract new workers and celebrate accomplishments. On Screen Manitoba’s advocacy goals are informed by all sectors of the Manitoba media production industry and the diversity of local workers, including Francophone, Indigenous, BIPOC and 2SLGBTQ+ professionals.
