INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP

  • I work in the media production industry in a creative, technical, production, business or support capacity—on set or in the office.

    PROFESSIONAL: $80 per year

    This is recommended for most working professionals in Manitoba’s media production industry.

    Whether you work on set, on camera, behind the scenes, in post-production, in the office, in a crew, technical or support role—or you're developing your first projects as a writer or director—this tier gives you full access to core membership benefits.

    PROFESSIONAL PLUS: $200 per year

    The Professional Plus membership is geared toward experienced producers, writers, directors and filmmakers.

    It includes all the benefits of the Professional tier, with the opportunity to apply for Access Funds for travel to markets, festivals or professional development.

    • Eligible to apply for Access Funds for travel to markets, festivals or training

    PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATED: $50 per year

    This tier is for individuals employed by a member company or organization, or active members of a recognized industry union or guild. It offers the same benefits as the Professional tier at a discounted rate of $50 (regularly $80).

    You qualify for this rate if you:

    • Are an active member of IATSE Local 856, IATSE/ICG 669, ACTRA Manitoba or the Directors Guild of Canada – Manitoba District Council, or

    • Work for a registered Production Company, Service Supplier or Non-Profit Industry Stakeholder member

    This tier is for students who want to begin connecting with Manitoba’s media production industry while completing their studies.

    Student members receive limited access to member services, with a focus on affordable access to networking and training opportunities:

    Option 2: PRODUCTION COMPANY with 2 Producers ($1000 per year)

    This membership is for Manitoba-based companies that produce content such as feature films, television, documentaries, and commercial work.

    You may name one or two affiliated producers who will:

    • Be listed in the Industry Directory under “Producers and Production Managers”

    This membership is for businesses that provide services or products to Manitoba’s media production industry, including equipment rentals, post-production, casting, transportation, insurance, accommodations, legal or accounting services, distribution and funding.

How to Sign Up

STEP 1: FILL OUT THE MEMBERSHIP FORM

Click the Join Now button to complete the online form. Be sure to include:

  • Your full contact details

  • A short bio

  • A recent headshot

  • A list of past and current projects

Why this matters: Your profile in the Industry Directory helps producers and companies find you.

STEP 2: PAY YOUR MEMBERSHIP DUES

The form will prompt you to pay using one of the following methods:

  • E-transfer (email provided in the form)

  • Credit or debit card (via invoice link)

  • Cheque (mailed or dropped off)

  • Cash (in person at our office)

STEP 3: CONFIRMATION

We’ll confirm your membership by email once payment is received.

You’ll also receive a welcome message and receipt for your records.

Benefits begin immediately and last for one year.

Memberships are renewed annually. To continue accessing benefits, members must remain in good standing.

  • Choose Professional Plus if you are a producer, director or writer actively developing and promoting projects, attending markets and are applying for Access Funds.

  • Freelancers should register under the Professional or Professional Plus tier. Company tiers are for registered businesses and organizations.

  • Don’t have everything ready? No problem — you can update your listing at any time.

  • The Industry Directory is visible to fellow members, producers and industry partners seeking Manitoba-based professionals. It’s designed to help others connect with you.

  • Yes. If your role changes or you're planning to access new opportunities, contact us to upgrade your membership.

  • Yes. Members in good standing may vote at the Annual General Meeting, seek nomination to the board, join committees or participate in OSM-led initiatives like events and speaking opportunities.

  • No. If you support or work with Manitoba-based productions, you are welcome to join from outside the province.

  • One year from the date of confirmation. You’ll receive a reminder when it’s time to renew.

  • Yes. You’ll receive confirmation and a receipt via email once your payment is processed.

  • Memberships are non-refundable but remain active until your expiry date. You can update your profile anytime.
