On Screen Manitoba — in collaboration with the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) - Manitoba District Council, IATSE Local 856 and ICG 669 — is thrilled to launch the Leadership Development Series with Managing People and Communication Skills led by Holly Palmer. The Leadership Development Series was initiated to support media production industry leaders to navigate team building and essential skills for our growing and evolving workforce.  

The Leadership Development Series is tailored for production managers, keys, leads, heads of department, first assistants, directors, filmmakers, and producers. Gain practical skills for immediate on-the-job impact, improve communication in fast-paced work settings, and elevate team morale, motivation, and performance. 

Managing People:

In this segment, first-time supervisors will delve into essential people management skills. The series aims to set the tone for daily adherence to policies and standards, boosting confidence in team supervision through the principles of respect and effectiveness.

Effective Communication:

Navigate communication challenges in dynamic environments with practical tools for handling difficult messages. The series also focuses on enhancing open communication to foster improved team dynamics.
