Edwards Creative Law and Manitoba Film & Music — in partnership with On Screen Manitoba — invite you to Legal Considerations for the Media Production Industry, a series of lunch and learn sessions for emerging and mid-level producers. This series is intended to provide participants with an understanding of basic legal considerations for their productions from development through delivery.

The first lunch and learn session, Legal Considerations for the Media Production Industry: Development to Pre-Production, will take place on November 7 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Creative Manitoba classroom (4th floor, 300-245 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg). Participants will have the option to participate in person or virtually (via a live stream), and will have the opportunity to network with industry legal experts.

This first session — hosted by Mark Edwards (Managing Partner, Entertainment Lawyer) and Michael Duboff (Entertainment Lawyer, Edwards Creative Law) — will focus on concepts including the role of legal counsel for productions, setting up a production company, copyright ownership & chain of title, working with other producers, production insurance and union/guild agreements.

A light lunch and refreshments will be provided for in-person participants.

The session is free to attend. You must register to attend, as space is limited.

If you have any questions, please contact Maryam Decter, Programs Manager, at maryam@onscreenmanitoba.com.
